Abstract
The corrosion behavior of copper grounding material was studied by polarization curves and EIS under the condition of soil∶water = 1∶1. In addition, the corrosion performance of copper grounding material in a variety of soil media was studied using laboratory corrosion tests and substation field tests. The results showed that copper samples exhibited no obvious localized corrosion in weak acidic and weak alkalic soils, and its uniform corrosion rate was small. Therefore, the common used TJ-240 copper stranded wire is able to fulfill the requirements of design service life.
