Abstract
Fe-Co alloy coatings were prepared on the surface of mild steel by means of thermal diffusion, using nano-Co3O4 powder as the source of Co element. The effects of treatment temperature on surface state, structure and corrosion resistance of the Fe-Co alloy coatings were investigated by electrochemical methods in 3.5% NaCl solution. The results show that when the treatment temperature≥800 ℃, single Fe solid solution phase Fe-Co alloy coatings(>25 μm) formed and the surface Co content(atomic fraction) was higher than 20at.%, and the coatings and substrate were integrated to metallurgy structure. The preparation of Fe-Co alloy coatings on mild steel surface can significantly improve the corrosion resistance in the 3.5% NaCl solution.
