Abstract
Quinoline and 1,3-dichloro-2-propanol were used as raw materials to synthesize a novel hydroxyl containing diquaternary ammonium salt (BQ-1) as acidification corrosion inhibitor by quaternization. The synthesized compound was characterized by IR spectrum.Besides,a comprehensive evaluation on corrosion inhibition effect of BQ-1 for N80 steel in 15% HCl solution was carried out by electrochemical test and mass loss measurements. The results indicated that BQ-1 had an excellent corrosion inhibition effect and its inhibition efficiency for N80 steel in 15% HCl solution at 90 ℃ could reach up to 96% at the concentration of 5 mmol/L.BQ-1 was also a mixed type inhibitors.Furthermore, the adsorption of the inhibitor on N80 steel surface conformed with the Langmuir adsorption isotherm equation.A protective film was formed on the surface of N80 steel which confirmed by surface analysis experiments (SEM and EDS).
