Abstract
The effect of strain on the hydrogen permeation behavior of 16Mn steel under loading in simulated atmospheric environment was investigated by electrochemical hydrogen permeation testing and slow strain rate testing. The results showed that the hydrogen permeation current increased with the increase of elastic deformation. And the measured results of hydrogen permeation current decrease under the condition of plastic deformation was accordant with the caculation results. The main reason of hydrogen permeation current decrease after plastic deformation was the increase of hydrogen capture ability of hydrogen traps.
