Corrosion and Prevention of Lycoming Engine's Piston

Piston is one of the important heated and stressed parts of engine.Piston is easy to suffer thermal fatigue failure because of execrable working environment.Localized corrosion in a piston would induce the source of stress concentration and affect flight safety seriously.The corrosion reasons of the Lycoming aero-engine's piston equipped for the NEW PIPER PA44-180 aircraft were analyzed in the atmospheric environment of Chendu area,and preventive methods were put forward.
