PREPARATION OF ANTICORROSIVE COATING WITH LAMELLAR ZINC PARTICLES

An anticorrosive coating was prepared with lamellar zinc particles as the sacrificial anode material and epoxy resin as the binder.Critical pigment volume concentration(CPVC) was measured using permeation rate method.The mechanical properties and anticorrosive ability of the coating were evaluated from the hardness,abrasion,adhesion,impacting,bending and salt spay tests.The relationship between the function of lamellar zinc particles and the anticorrosion efficiency was discussed.The best performance of the coating could be achieved at a concentration of 30%-35% PVC.
