Abstract
Solid extracted from acer buergerianum leaves was investigated as a good environmental-friendly plant inhibitor. The inhibition effect of the plant extractive on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in 1.0 mol/L HCl has been studied by weight loss,Tafel polarization and electrochemical impedence spectroscopy (EIS) methods. The results showed that the acer buergerianum leave extractive was a good inhibitor in hydrochloric acid for CRS,and the adsorption of the plant inhibitor on the CRS surface followed the Langmuir adsorption isotherm equation.Polarization curves showed that the plant inhibitor was a mixed-type inhibitor in hydrochloric acid. All EIS spectra exhibited one capacitive loop, and the charge transfer resistance increased with the increase of inhibitor concentration.
