SCALE AND ITS CONTROL IN RECIRCULATING COOLING WATER SYSTEMS

The kinds of scale,its chemical control methods,including ion exchanger softening,lime softening,acid feeding,CO2 feeding and scale inhibitor feeding,and physical control methods such as reverse osmosis and nanofiltration,electrostatic water treatment,electron water treatment,anticorrosion and antiscale coating,plastic heat exchangers in recirculating cooling water systems are discussed.Various scale-corrosion inhibitors and scale dispersants are considered.Two green scale inhibitors,polyaspartic acid and polyepoxysuccinic acid,are detailed and emphasized.
