    • The mechanisms of microbiological deterioration of polymeric materials are briefly introduced.The possibilily of synthetic polymers becoming potential substrates of heterotrophic microorganisms depends on their chemical structures,compositions,bonds and dominant microflora.Biodegradability of polymers also depends on molecular weight,crystallinity and physical form of the relevant materials.Biodeterioration affects the application of polymeric materials in a wide range of industries,including fiber-reinforced polymeric composites,electronic insulation polyimides,polymer plasticizers and additives.
