Inhibition Behavior of C12-6-C12 Gemini Surfactant on Cr13 Steel in HCl Solution

Abstract
The critical micelle concentration(CMC) of C12-6-C12 Gemini cationic surfactant was studied, and the results showed that the CMC of C12-6-C12 Gemini cationic surfactant was 0.58×10-4 mol/L in water solution at 25 ℃. Gemini cationic inhibitors′ corrosion behaviors on the Cr13 steel surface in 1 mol/L HCl solution at 25 ℃ were also studied by weight loss and electrochemical polarization technology. The results showed that the C12-6-C12 Gemini cationic surfactant formed monomolecular adsorption layer on Cr13 steel to prevent corrosion, and it′s adsorption followed Langmuir adsorption model.
