Atmospheric Corrosion and Its Influencing Factors of Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys

    • Atmospheric corrosion of aluminum and its alloys was investigated at seven test sites in China for over 10 years exposure.Correlations between corrosion rate of aluminum alloys and its influencing factors including environmental conditions and alloying elements were studied using gray relational analysis method. It is concluded that the remarkable factor of atmospheric pollutants which affect the corrosion rate of aluminum and its alloys is SO2,while the most notable factors of meteorology are the lowest temperature and average humidity.
