Influence of Thermal Residual Stress on Disbondment of 3PE

    • It is usually believed that the peeling of coating has be strongly affected by the heat generated during coating stage, bad coating quality, unexpected external force, light and oxygen-aging, corrosion in complicated underground environment and other aspects. Among these, the effect of temperature changes during the coating phase of some special pipes, can not be neglected. The present work focuses on the thermal effects. A stress-strain model of pipe-coating’s heat during transfer process was established. With the help of finite element analysis software (ANSYS), the thermal residual stress generated in coating process was analyzed, and the hazard influence of heat residual stress on 3PE coating’s bonding interface was discussed to make it possible to analyze the mechanism of the 3PE coating’s dibondment.
