Corrosion Behavior of Diamond-like Carbon Film on Magnesium Alloy in Hank′s Body Fluid

Abstract
The corrosion behavior of diamond-like carbon film on magnesium alloy in Hank′s simulated body fluid was investigated. The polarization curve and open circuit potential of diamond-like carbon film on magnesium alloy were evaluated by electrochemical methods. It was found that the polarization behavior of diamond-like carbon film on magnesium alloy in simulated body fluid was similar to that of AZ31 magnesium alloy. The corrosion morphology was observed by SEM. The corrosion rate of the samples and hydrogen evolution as a function of in simulated body fluid were tested by weight loss method and hydrogen collection method. The results showed that diamond-like carbon film on magnesium alloy had better corrosion resistance than AZ31 magnesium alloy.
