Abstract
Effect of Si on corrosion resistance of iron-based alloys in 450 ℃ molten zinc was investigated. The scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) were used to analyze the corrosion behavior of the iron-based alloys with and without Si in molten Zn.The results showed that the iron-base alloy without Si had better corrosion resistance at short time, but contrary at long time. There was a Si enrichment zone at the interface between alloy substrate and corrosion products, resulting in quick growth of the ζ phase with a coarse colummar shape.Г phase disappeared,ζ phase formed firstly at the interface of Fe-Zn.
