    Accelerated Corrosion Test on LY12 Aluminum Alloy in Simulated Marine Atmosphere

    • In this paper,an accelerated corrosion test method named as “solution dipping and atmosphere exposure” was proposed for marine atmosphere corrosion and used to study the initial corrosion of LY12 aluminum alloy.The corrosion behavior such as corrosion morphology,weight gain,penetration and corrosion potential obtained by “solution dipping and atmosphere exposure” test were compared with those by intermittent salt spraying test and cyclic dipping test.The results showed that the acceleration extent of the three test methods was: cyclic dipping test > intermittent salt spraying test > “solution dipping and atmosphere exposure”.
