APPLICATION OF RISK-BASED INSPECTION TO MDEA REGENERATOR AND ANALYSES FOR ITS CORROSION MECHANISM

  • The risk-based inspection (RBI) technique was used to analyze the risk of MDEA regenerator,the failure possibility,consequence and risk grade of each component of the regenerator were obtained.The corrosion mechanism for the regenerator was analyzed based on the risk assessment results and corrosion case.The corrosion was mainly caused by amine,CO2,H2S and some reactions under thermal insulation.The inspection strategy was determined based on the analysis.Some suggestions about the development of RBI works were also proposed.
