Relative Function of Effects of Alloy Elements on Corrosion Resistance of Weathering Steels in Marine Atmosphere

    • The relative function of effects of Cu,Si and Ni on the corrosion resistance of weathering steels in a simulated marine atmospheric environment was conducted by means of immersion corrosion experiment after designing alloy composition based on the three factors-three levels orthogonal test and preparing weathering steels in laboratory. The results showed that the relative function of effects of Cu,Si and Ni on corrosion resistance of weathering steels was great, and the influence of the three factors exhibited the following order:Cu>Si>Ni. The analysis of variance showed that Cu was a significant influencing factor,Si and Ni were nonsignificant influencing factors. The optimal composition ratio of weathering steels had been determined to be Cu0.15-Si0.6-Ni0. It′s properly feasible to reduce the dosage of precious metals Cu and Ni within a certain range in order to cut down the cost of production under the interaction between Cu,Si and Ni.
