Sealing Treatment of Plasma Sprayed Cr2O3-8TiO2 Ceramic Coating

Abstract
Plasma sprayed coatings are applied widely in the industry,but the high porosity has restricted its application to corrosion resistant products.In order to increase the corrosion resistance,epoxy resin and organic silicon resin were used to seal the pores of plasma sprayed Cr2O3-8TiO2 coating.The effects of sealing treatment on the corrosion resistance of coatings were investigated.Salt spraying test and electrochemical corrosion test were used to compare the anti-corrosion properties of sealed and unsealed coatings.SEM and OM were used to check the microstructure of the coating.The corrosion resistance of the sealed coating was obviously better than that of the unsealed one and the unsealed coating flaked off after 240 h salt spraying test.
