Effect of Anions in Korla Soil on Corrosion Behavior of X80 Pipeline Steel

    • Effects of anions in Korla soil simulated solution on corrosion behaviors of X80 pipeline steel were investigated using immersion test, polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results showed that Cl- and SO42- added respectively in HCO3- solution increased the corrosion rate of X80 steel. Moreover, the role of Cl- in promoting corrosion rate was more obvious than that of SO42-. When Cl- and SO42- were added togther into HCO3- solution, the corrosion rate of X80 steel was bigger than that when Cl- or SO42- was added respectively, but the promoting effect of both ions on corrosion rate was lower than the sum value of Cl- and SO42-.
