Abstract
The corrosion behaviors of (TWIP steel) Fe-24Mn-0.45C-0.23Si with different austenite contents in 3.5% NaCl solution were studied by electrochemical technique and immersion testing. The morphology of the tested steels was observed after different immersion durations, and the mechanism of corrosion was analyzed. The results showed that the TWIP steel had low corrosion resistance and the whole corrosion process of the TWIP steel could be divided into three stages: pitting corrosion-dominated stage, pitting and general corrosion stage and general corrosion-dominated stage.
