Abstract
With the increasing application of copper in various fields, more attention is paid to the problems of its corrosion and corrosion inhibition.Because amino-acid compounds are cheap and nontoxic, they have been used as inhibitors more and more widely. The inhibition effect and mechanism of arginine and its complex with antiscorbic acid in 0.25 mol/L HCl were investigated by polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).The experimental results show that arginine and the complex solutions both can retard the cathodic process of the copper corrosion reaction. The latter had better inhibition effect. With the increase of concentration(from 10-5 to 10-3mol/L,the inhibition efficiency was increased.
