POTENTIAL STABILITY OF 99.9999% HIGH PURITY ZINC REFERENCE ELECTRODE

Abstract
The effect of Cl- concentration,temperature and anodic polarization current on the potential stability of high purity zinc reference electrode was investigated.The higher the Cl- concentration,the more negative the electrode potential.The potential shifted to the negative value while the temperature was higher or lower than 25℃,but it shifted to positive at 50℃ due to the deposition of corrosion product on the electrode surface.When the seawater temperature was between 0℃ and 25℃,and the anodic polarization current was lower than 5μA/cm2,high purity zinc exhibited high performance of current-load ability.
