Effect of Homogenization on Electrochemical Properties of Al-Zn-Sn Series Alloy Anodes

    • The effect of homogenization with different cooling methods on electrochemical properties of Al-Zn-Sn-Ga-Bi alloy was studied. The results showed that after heat treatment, the current efficiency of the alloy was over 95%,the operating potential shifted negatively and became smooth within 10 days.Although the current efficiency of the annealed alloy anode was higher slightly, the quenched sample had more negative potential and uniform dissolution appearance, and thus showed a better electrochemical performance on the whole. The change of dominant factors in the activation process led to the difference of dissolution appearance, due to the changes of the existence state of activation elements in the matrix in the heat-treatment process.
