Crevice Corrosion Behavior of Carbon Steel Under Alkali Condition

Abstract
Crevice corrosion is an important type of severe localized corrosion.Under alkali conditions,the effect of Cl-concentration,pH and two anions on crevice corrosion of Q235 carbon steel was studied by potentiodynamic polarization method.The results showed that the concentration of Cl- had great influence on crevice corrosion,with increase of concentration of Cl-,the crevice corrosion was accelerated intensely.While accretion of pH reduced crevice corrosion only a little .Compared with NO-2,PO3-4 could restrain crevice corrosion more effectively.
