Inhibition Effect of Cerium Chloride and Lanthanum Nitrate on Corrosion-resistance of Aluminum Alloy in 3.5% NaCl Solution

    • The corrosion inhibition of CeCl3 and La(NO3)3 on an autirust aluminum alloy in 3.5% NaCl solution was investigated by weight loss method and electrochemical polarization curves. The results show that both CeCl3 and La(NO3)3 are cathodic-type inhibitor in acidic media, and adding low concemtration of CeCl3 and La(NO3)3 have good effect on corrosion resistance of aluminum alloy in 3.5% NaCl solution. The best inhibition effect is at the concentration of 1.0 g·L-1. The inhibition efficiency of the inhibitors follows the order: CeCl3>La(NO3)3.
