Analysis of Weathering Steels Containing Cu and P Exposed to Marine Atmosphere for 10 Years

The corrosion trend of four weathering steels containing Cu and P exposed to marine atmosphere in Qingdao for 10 a was summarized and the effect of added element on corrosion resistance of steels was analyzed. It is concluded that the corrosion rates of the four weathering steels do not exhibit much difference, and the variation of corrosion depth (D) with exposure time (t) follows equation D=Atn. The corrosion resistance is retaed to alloying elements.
