The material,macroscopic morphology,microstructure and surface spectroscopy of the bolt were investigated.The results showed that there were many defects in the bolt material.Considering the application environment,it was concluded that the cracking failure of the material was due to chloride induced stress corrosion cracking.Some suggestions of prevention and improvement were proposed.
