Corrosion Rates of A3 Steel in Polymer Flooding Produced Liquids

    • Coupon weight loss tests were used to study the corrosion rates of A3 steel in produced liquids. Static corrosion tests were carried out in unfiltered water and filtered water. Static and dynamic corrosion tests were carried out in the filtered water with additions of different concentrations of anionic polyacrylamide, petroleum sulfonate and formaldehyde respectively. The results show that the flow rate and suspended particles in water samples were the important influencing factors for corrosion.
