THE EFFECT OF PROPARGYL ALCOHOL ON THE CORROSION INHIBITION OF Q235 STEEL IN SULPHURIC ACID

    • Polarization curves and EIS method were employed to investigate inhibition behaviors of propargyl alcohol (PA) for Q235 steel in sulphuric acid.It was found that PA mainly suppressed the anodic reaction and the anodic desorption behavior of PA changed with the increase of PA concentration. After 4 h immersion extreme value phenomenon of concentration was observed. However,it disappeared after 24 h,which indicated some changes of the inhibiting mechanism. The inhibition behavior may be attributable to the polymerization of PA molecules instead of adsorption at high concentrations.
