    Application of DCVG+CIPS Technology to External Testing of Natural Gas Transmission Pipelines

    • A comprehensive method which uses DCVG and CIPS to test and evaluate the external anticorrosive coating integrity of pipelines is introduced in this paper, and an exemple is illustrated to show the application and digging validation. The results indicate that the comprehensive measurement technology consisted of DCVG and CIPS could determine the position, size, severity and corrosion activity of the damage. Such technique could also eliminate the effect of IR drop of soil, evaluate the true status of cathodic protection of pipelines, suggest external anticorrosive coating repair and adjustment of cathodic protection project, and provide a scientific evidence for the maintenance, repair, monitoring and control of pipelines.
