Abstract
The corrosion resistance of stainless steel 1.4529 was studied by electrochemical techniques. The polarization curves results indicated that the corrosion current density of stainless steel 1.4529 increased with the contents of acidity, Cl- and SO42- increase. The electrochemical noise spectrum characteristic parameters showed that the higher Cl- concentration, the lower the pitting potential. The surface pitting corrosion was found on 1.452 9 stainless steel. in pH=3, Cl-=20 g·L-1 solution. Pitting spots transformed from metastable to stable after immersion for about 48 h.
