Abstract
Inorganic-organic composite zinc-rich paints were produced by adding organic filming material (silicone acrylic emulsion) and carbon nanotubes to conventional water borne inorganic zinc-rich paints. The effects of silicone acrylic emulsion and carbon nanotubes on the mechanical properties, anticorrosion and anticavitation behaviors of the inorganic-organic zinc-rich coatings were investigated. The results showed that the liquid component of the paints was homogeneous and the viscosity was suitable when the concentrations of silicone acrylic emulsion and carbon nanotubes were around 20 wt% and 1 wt% respectively, the ratio of pigments / binder was 2/1.The corrosion resistance and cavitation resistance of the corresponding coating were remarkablely improved.
