Abstract
Electrochemical polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were used to study the filiform corrosion rate of the painted 6063 aluminum profile, and the corrosion results were also compared with those evaluated with the constant temperature and humidity box testing. The effects of excessive alloy elements of Cu and Mn in 6063 aluminium alloy, pretreatment methods of chrome based passivation and Ti-Zr based chemical conversion upon the corrosion were also analyzed. It is found that the surplus recycled elements Cu and Mn will accelerate the filiform corrosion of the 6063 aluminium alloy, and the painted aluminum profile passivated in chrome based solution has better anti-corrosion performance than that treated in Ti-Zr based solution.
