Corrosion Inhibition of Dendrocalmus Latifcorus Munro Leaves Extract on Zinc in NaOH Solution

Dendrocalmus latifcorus munro leaves extract (DMLE) was investigated as a good environmentally friendly plant inhibitor. The inhibition effect of DMLE on zinc in 1.0 mol/L NaOH was studied by weight loss method. The results showed that DMLE was a good inhibitor, and the maximum inhibition efficiency was near 90%. The adsorption of DMLE on the zinc surface obeyed the amended Langmuir adsorption isotherm equation. Effect of immersion time was also studied and discussed in detail.
