Abstract
There are seven common mistakes in the following aspects during the design and implementation of cathodic protection: (1) Selection of cathodic protection methods; (2) Selection of the power supply apparatus in the impressed current method; (3) Number of anodes; (4) Number of insulating joints (or insulating flanges); (5) Selection of anodic materials; (6) Measurement method of proection potential; (7) Whether the cathodic protection potential equal to or lower than -0.85 V (CSE) will be completely safe. Better understanding them will help to improve cathodic protection in the future work.
