Abstract
The corrosion properties of high strength aluminum alloy 2219 and its welded joints in 3.5% NaCl solution were investigated by immersion tests, polarization curve tests and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The results showed that the distribution and morphology of Cu was related to the corrosion. The corrosion current of the FSW(friction stir welding) welded joints was the least, the corrosion current of the EBW(electron beam welding) welded joints was less and the corrosion current of the TIG(argon tungsten-arc welding) welded joints was the biggest. The order from large to small of EIS was the FSW welded joints, the EBW welded joints, BM(base metal) and the TIG welded joints.
