    Electrochemical Study on Cathodic Protection Parameters of X80 Pipeline Steels

    • Electrochemical methods were used to measure the polarization curves in solutions with different pH and the EIS (electrochemical impedance spectroscopy) at different cathodic polarization voltages for X80 pipeline steel. A method to determine the cathodic protection parameters by laboratory experimental mesurements was proposed. The results showed that the polarization curves and EIS can lead to determine the cathodic protection parameters of X80 pipesteels. The curves of charge transfer resistance (Rt) vs cathodic polarization potential (Ee, c) can be obtained by EIS. And it could be used for analyzing the control mechanism of corrosion process and guiding the selection of cathodic protection parameters.
