    Corrosion Protective Film on AA5052 Al Alloy Surface Prepared by Sol-gel Method

    • Vinyl triethoxysilane (VS) and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) were used to prepare silsesquioxane (SSO) hybrid coatings on the surface of AA5052 aluminum alloy by sol-gel method. The corrosion resistance of the film was studied by potentiodynamic polarization measurement and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The effect of TEOS content on anticorrosion properties was also tested. The results show that the hybrid films inhibit the corrosion reaction of AA5052 effectively. The hybrid coating has the best corrosion resistance when TEOS content is 20%.
