Research Progress of Graphene Film as Protective Coating for Copper and Nickel

    • Graphene is a monoatomic layer sheet, formed by a hexagonal arrangement of carbon atoms with excellent thermal, electrical and mechanical properties. Graphene has been used in solar cells, super capacitors, gas sensors, field effect transistors, catalysts and drug carriers, etc. Due to the high thermal stability and chemical inertness, the graphene film can be used to protect metals as well. In this paper, the research progress of graphene films used for protecting the surface of the metallic growth substrates of Cu and Ni alloys from air oxidation and other solutions is discussed.
