Application of Corrosion and Protection Technology to Seawater Circle Pumps

The technology of cathodic protection(CP) has teen applied to circle pumps in power plants at sea coast area for more than ten years in China.At present the main protection technology of circle pumps is coating plus impressed current CP for pump inside,coating and sacrificial anode CP for underwater part of pump outside.In this paper,the corrosion reasons,the impressed current CP technology and its application to circle pumps are discussed.
