Performance of Iron-based Sacrificial Anodes in Seawater and Freshwater

    • In seawater and fresh water, the performance of ingot and 35 steel was measured by constant current experiment, and then their anodic polarization curves were drawn.Ingot and 35 steel had well performance of sacrificial anode, steady working potential, high current efficiency and uniform dissolution in sea water, but in freshwater their working potentials were more positive. The polarization degree of sacrificial anode was great when anodic polarization current density was 0.2 mA/cm2.Then their potentials in seawater kept stable in spite of increasing polarization current, but in freshwater the potentials moved in positive direction.
