Analyses of Anodic Layers on Imported Cast Aluminium Alloys

The anodic oxide layers on some imported cast aluminium alloys were analyzed by means of electron probe (EPMA) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results showed that the anodic oxide films were sealed for increasing wear resistance. The wear performance with sealed anodic oxidized films was prefered greatly to that of without sealed films. Some film sealing methods are introduced in this paper.
