    Corrosion Analysis of Ground Pipeline in an Oil Field

    • Some gathering and transportation pipelines in an oil field corrode seriously, and accidents occurred frequently. The material of pipelines was 20# steel. In order to clarify the reasons for such a serious corrosion, corrosion monitoring was carried out at major parts of processing station, simulation experiment was carried out in laboratory. XRD, SEM and EDS methods were used to analyze the corrosion product film. The results showed that the main reasons of corrosion was the existence of high mineralization water and high concentration of chloride ion in CO2 environment. In addition, poor corrosion resistance of pipeline material was also an important reason.
