Application of Cathodic Protection by Sacrificial Anode to PCCP in South-to-North Water Transfer Project

Cathodic protection by sacrificial anode was first time applied to prestressed conerete cylinder pipe(PCCP) in south-to-north water transfers project in China.The structure,design,setting and running of the sacrificial anode system were introduced as an example.The results showed that the influence of soil on the sacrificial anode system was great and the application of sacrificial anode of Zn could effectively avoid over-protection.The working station of the sacrificial anode system was stabilized and the effect was contented.The using time and polarized potential were all satisfied with the request.
