    Synthesis and Inhibition Performance of Quaternary Ammonium Salt Gemini Surfactant

    • A new kind of quaternary ammonium salt gemini surfactant(ODOB) was synthesized by oleic amide, phthalic acid and benzyl chloride which were used as main body, bonding group and salt reagent respectively. ODOB has more adsorption groups and good solubility in water. The results of SEM show that ODOB has good adsorption film performance on the steel surface. ODOB can form a single molecule adsorbed layer, and a corrosion inhibitor molecule can replace 2.7 molecules of water. The results of electrochemical test and weight loss method show that ODOB can inhibit the corrosion rate by increasing reaction activation energy, the corrosion inhibition rate was up to 99.3% when its concentration was 150 mg/L.
