Abstract
According to amine condensation reaction, cyclohexylamine, formaldehyde and aromatic ketones were used as the main raw materials to synthesize a corrosion inhibitor DW-3 which is suited to P110 steel. The structure, corrosion inhibition performance, electrochemical mechanism and the sample surface of DW-3 were studied by IR spectrum, weightlessness, electrochemistry and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results of IR spectrum showed that the molecular structures of the product met the pre-set structure. The results of weightlessness showed that with increasing the concentration of the inhibitor, the corrosion rate of P110 steel specimens in 15% hydrochloric acid solution decreased, and the relationship between inhibitor concentration and inhibition efficiency further clarifies that the adsorption of the inhibitor on the P110 steel specimen surface is in accord with the Langmuir monolayer isotherm model. Electrochemical polarization curves and SEM results showed that the corrosion inhibitor is a hybrid inhibitor to form a clear protective membrane on P110 steel surface, and to reduce the corrosion of P110 steel in acid effectively by the main process of inhibiting the cathodic reaction and “geometric overlay effect” mechanism.
