    Progress in Research on Corrosion Performance of Copper and Copper Alloys with Super-hydrophobic Surface

    • With the extensive use of copper and its alloys, corrosion causes tremendous social and economic losses. Super-hydrophobic surface is a new and promising method for corrosion prevention. In this paper, hydrophobic materials and methods for the preparation of copper-based super-hydrophobic surface are outlined briefly. The impact of super-hydrophobic surface on corrosion of copper and copper alloys is analyzed. The mechanism of super-hydrophobic suface for anti-corrosion is summarized. The possible technical barriers in practical application are also summarized. A new idea combining super-hydrophobic surface with inhibitor for corrosion control is proposed.
