Evaluation of Pitting Corrosion Performance of 13Cr Series Martensitic Stainless Steels

More Information
  • Received Date: November 26, 2012
  • Pitting corrosion performance of four different 13Cr martensitic stainless steels were evaluated through the dynamic potential scanning method, FeCl3 solution immersion test and simulated downhole environment corrosion test. The results of dynamic potential scanning were agreement with those of the simulated corrosion. The pitting corrosion resistance increased with the increase of PRE, however, in the FeCl3 solution only general corrosion occurred for the lower PRE 13Cr materials while severe pitting appeared for the higher PRE 13Cr materials.
