INHIBITION PERFORMANCE OF SCHIFF BASE FOR 20# CARBON STEEL IN HYDROCHLORIC ACIDIC SOLUTION

Abstract
Inhibiting performance of Schiff base corrosion inhibitor 4-Hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde with 4-ally-3-thiosemicarbazone (short for AAT) and schiff base benzaldehyde with 4-ally-3-thiosemicarbazone for 20# carbon steel in hydrochloric acidic solution was studied by weight loss tests and electrochemical measurements.Effect factors on inhibiting performance of the two kinds of schiff base,such as concentration,temperature and so on,were discussed.The two kinds of schiff base had corrosion inhibition action for 20# carbon steel in hydrochloric acidic solution,especially AAT had better inhibition action.A strong synergistic effect was observed among AAT,hexamethylene tetramine,potassium iodide,benzaldehyde with 4-ally-3-thiosemicardazone,N-benzoyl sulfourea.
