Bio-technology Application of Competition and Replacement to Corrosion Prevention of Oil Wells

    • At the intermediary and later stage,a certain amount of sulfide and sulfate-reducing bacteria(SRB) contained in the production liquid could cause severe corrosion of tubes, rods and ground equipment.Conventional method of adding inhibitor had limitations of medicine resistance, large quantity and so on.The biological rules “law of the jungle” and “natural selection and survival of the fittest” were used to cut off sulfate-reducing bacteria′s living environment and conditions. In the field practice, when the oil well was dosed with a amount of 80 mg/L of antiseptic FYR-1,the well mouth sampling and monitoring showed that there was no SRB and the average corrosion rate deceased from 0.1662 mm/a to 0.0082 mm/a.Thus the purpose of well corrosion prevention was achieved.
